Trees, and here this beautiful oak, are simply fascinating. Life-givers for so many species.

I hope and wish that it will survive me and that generations after me will be able to admire this oak.

It has become a kind of pilgrimage destination for me and is visited year after year.

Die “Alte Eiche” am Laacher See.
Wie alt der Baum wohl ist 2 gar 3 Menschenleben sicherlich. Verrückt oder!!?

Ich stelle mir dann immer vor wie die Menschen die an ihm vorüber zogen wohl gelebt haben zu jener Zeit.

Warum sie diesen Weg benutzten. Woher sie kamen und wohin sie gingen. Zu Fuß, mit Kutsche oder Esselskarren.

Da er am Wegesrand und zugleich Waldrand zu Wiesen und Feldern steht, bekommt er viel Licht, aber muss sich auch behaupten wenn es stürmt!

Das wird vielleicht der Grund sein warum er in zwei Hälften zerbrochen ist! Oder ein Blitzeinschlag? Naja verkohlt ist und war er nicht.

Ich vermute die Schwerkraft in Verbindung mit einem Sturm hat seine Seele offenbart.
Denn genau so fühlt es sich für mich an , wenn ich heute vor seinem imposanten Stamm und seiner Krone stehe.
Er offenbart sein Inneres ungeschützt und verletzlich trozt allen Widrigkeiten.

Jenen Menschen die den Laacher See umrunden, wird er wohl schon aufgefallen sein. Nur einen Wimpernschlag ist es her, das ich die Eiche das erste mal sah.

Die Eiche umkreiste, berührte und klar auch fotografierte.
Zu diesem Zeitpunkt war der Stamm noch nicht in zwei gebrochen, aber man konnte schon sehen das er irgendwie speziell war.

I wonder how old the tree is, 2 or even 3 human lives for sure. Crazy, isn’t it?

I always imagine how the people who passed by it must have lived at that time.

Why they used this path. Where they came from and where they went. On foot, by horse and carriage or by donkey wagon.

Since it stands at the edge of the road and at the same time at the edge of the forest to meadows and fields, it gets a lot of light, but must also hold its own when it storms!

That may have been the reason for its breaking in two! Or a lightning strike? Well, it is not and was not charred. I guess gravity in combination with a storm revealed his soul.
Because that is exactly how it feels to me when I stand in front of its imposing trunk and treetop today.
It reveals its inner self, unprotected and vulnerable, defying all odds.

Those people who walk around Lake Laach will probably have noticed it. It was only a blink of an eye ago that I saw the oak for the first time.

I circled the oak, touched it and, of course, photographed it.
At that time, the trunk was not yet broken in two, but you could already see that it was somehow special.
