P.S. I’m also a bit shocked that the island has a garbarge problem. I’m sure there are many reasons why the main roads are so littered with garbage left and right, especially on bridges, stop and look a few meters to the left and right of the road. In my eyes, it’s absolute madness. As a guest, I make sure I don’t dispose of anything in public. What would be a solution to this phenomenon? A tourist tax (a garbage fee for every tourist who visits the island. The ferry operators could integrate this quite simply into their ticket prices for the crossing and would then take care of organizing and cleaning up the roadsides. I would gladly pay these extra costs.
